Histoire méconnue sur moi!
J’ai eu la chance d’être monitrice au laboratoire d’anatomie. C’est une performance sans faute dans un examen qui m’a ouvert cette porte.
Un examen au laboratoire d’anatomie, c’est 1 minute par station pour identifier deux structures sur un corps qui a été disséqué par les étudiants. Il peut y avoir 25-50 stations.
Après les premières dissections, ça m’a pris pas mal de jours avant d’oser manger un poulet à décortiquer… il y avait quelques ressemblances disons!
Éventuellement, mon fun est devenu d’identifier la structure en français ET en latin!!!!
J’en ai perdu un peu parce que je n’utilise plus ces connaissances au quotidien. Néanmoins, c’est la base en sciences de la santé de connaître un minimum en anatomie.
Je tiens à souligner l’ampleur de l’impact positif du don de corps pour les étudiants qui ont la chance d’en profiter. C’est possible de faire ce geste ici, au Québec!
Travailler avec un vrai humain, toucher aux structures, les mettre en valeur, observer leur positionnement, ça n’a rien à voir avec un logiciel ou un livre. C’est une préparation extraordinaire pour les stages et la vraie vie.
J’ai encore bien du fun à honorer l’anatomie. Après « The Brain » j’ai concocté « Au coeur de la question » !

Unheard-of Story About Me!
I was fortunate enough to be a monitor in the anatomy lab. It was a flawless performance in an exam that opened this door for me.
An anatomy lab exam involves 1 minute per station to identify two structures on a body that has been dissected by the students. There can be 25-50 stations.
After the first dissections, it took me quite a few days before I dared to eat a chicken again… there were some resemblances with dissection, let's say!
Eventually, my fun became identifying the structure in both French and Latin!
I've lost a bit because I don't use these skills in my daily life anymore.
Nevertheless, it's fundamental in the health sciences to have a basic knowledge of anatomy.
I want to emphasize the immense positive impact of body donation for the students who have the opportunity to benefit from it. It's possible to make this gesture here, in Quebec!
Working with a real human, touching the structures, highlighting them, observing their positioning, is nothing like using software or a book.
It's an extraordinary preparation for internships and real life.
I still have a lot of fun honoring anatomy.
